About
AstroFetch is a hosted MCP server run by NExScI. It gives your AI assistant the same curated archive knowledge the AstroFetch (astrofetch.ipac.caltech.edu) chat uses: per-archive table guides, column documentation, domain notes and worked example ADQL queries for our ever expanding list of archives. Your assistant can validate and run ADQL queries (as asynchronous TAP jobs; large results come back as a row count, preview and a direct archive download URL), search the literature in NASA ADS, compute target visibility from known observatories, and predict exoplanet transit windows. Nothing to install and no account or API key needed: point any client that supports remote Streamable HTTP MCP servers at https://astrofetch.ipac.caltech.edu/mcp. Setup instructions for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, OpenCode and Codex are at https://astrofetch.ipac.caltech.edu/agents.
